DESCRIPTION:

We’re looking for a Production Artist II to join the Global Sports Apparel team. This role amplifies production by delivering flawless execution on production-ready files and is a trusted resource within the team through creation of detailed and accurate schematics. This role demands a balance of accuracy, speed, and high-volume creation. The candidate needs to have a creative mindset and the ability to manage multiple projects in a time sensitive environment keeping production moving forward.

The AP Design Excellence department is looking for Graphic Designers to support the GSA Production Artist Digital Design Studio team. This is a seasonal role and will help with special projects. They will work on technical drawing schematics for graphic designs on Sport Uniforms and Tee-shirts. Their work is then used by manufacturers to create the product per the designers specifications.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

If this is you, you’ll be working on highly visible product across sports and professional leagues. This is where sport, design and culture meet and where we are redefining apparel for both athletes and fans. You will work with design to create and finalize graphic details across multiple levels of product, from on athlete to retail. You will be inspired and challenged by a wide range of responsibilities and experiences.

You will do this by leveraging 2D and 3D tools. A typical day could include Production Art meetings and alignment, high-volume graphic schematic creation and laydown page creation, creating documentation for downstream partners and reviewing strike-offs. Addition to creation you will be responsible for tracking and maintaining updates on all appropriate files for accuracy through final approval. You will get to learn new tools and advocate for efficiencies in the product creation life cycle.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

You will report directly to the Production Art Studio Sr. Manager, while working in collaboration with fellow Apparel and Graphic Production Artists.

You will be working on product across multiple sport dimensions, focusing primarily on basketball uniforms to help support seasonal category apparel graphic product creation. This opportunity will require independent and highly detailed thinking.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor’s degree, Graphic Design or related field with experience in product creation
  • Strong knowledge of Illustrator and Adobe Suite
  • Experience in 3D apparel programs, such as CLO
  • Understanding of Smartsheets, Airtable, and Miro are a plus
  • Knowledge of graphic applications for apparel
  • Expert listening and communication skills
  • Excellent attention to details with organizational thinking
  • Deep curiosity for learning
  • Strong ability to multitask with prioritization
  • Self-starter with the ability to navigate ambiguity
  • Proven ability to collaborate
  • A love for sports is a bonus but a love for design is essential

Must Haves:

  • Experience creating technical schematics of graphics for apparel - more technical minded with some creativity. Open to someone with apparel development experience who wants to switch to more design oriented work
  • Previous work in production, apparel, graphic uniforms - Sport Uniform work and non-uniform work
  • Technical image art or pattern experience

Nice to haves:

  • Creating and maintaining 100% accurate schematics of PR
  • Presenting projects to stakeholders, able to deal with ambiguity
  • An interest in Sports.
  • Basketball Apparel experience is a “golden ticket” candidate

Individual Areas of Focus:

  • 1 opening - WNBA and NBA
  • 1 opening – Basketball
  • 1 opening - Rostering (name, number)
  • 1 opening - Track and Field
  • 1 opening - Supporting golf and tennis - needs more print and pattern experience vs graphics, doing repeat patterns
