We are looking for a managing attorney to join us in advancing the global legal market from New York, the economic capital of the world. Key Responsibilities
[Operational]
· Office Leadership and Startup Oversight – Lead the establishment and early-stage operations of the New York office, including administrative setup, hiring, compliance, and coordination with external vendors and regulators
· Team Management and Mentorship – Supervise, train, and mentor paralegals and junior attorneys; foster a collaborative and accountable work environment; oversee workload distribution and professional development
· Bicultural Firm Coordination – Maintain consistent and effective communication with the headquarters in Seoul to ensure alignment in strategy, reporting, and workflow integration across jurisdictions
· Strategic Planning – Contribute to long-term firm growth by identifying practice opportunities, improving internal processes, and aligning the office’s goals with the firm’s global vision
· Content Contribution and Thought Leadership – Write articles, client alerts, and legal insights for the firm’s website and publications; represent the firm in legal forums, conferences, and speaking engagements as appropriate
[Legal]
· Legal Practice Management – Handle a broad range of transactional matters, including international trade and investment, international arbitration, and general experience in criminal litigation
Required Qualifications
· Licensed and in good standing with the New York State Bar
· Minimum of 5 years of legal practice, with at least 2 years in a leadership or law firm management role
· Team management and operational experience, with strong task prioritization and problem-solving skills
· Self-starter and an entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to identify risks and opportunities during a firm’s startup and growth phase
· Strong interpersonal, written, verbal communication skills; ability to liaise with both local and international clients and colleagues
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience working with international clients at a major U.S. or international law firm, or in-house legal team with cross-border work
· Experience as a sole practitioner and managing an independent law office
Salary information: $170,000 ~
