Job Description

NOVA Engineering is seeking a Certified Welding Inspector / Structural Steel Inspector for our Fort Myers, Florida office (Lehigh Acres). We are looking for a self-motivated individual with a positive attitude and a strong work ethic. Primary duties include performing structural building inspections and QA/QC tests (masonry, reinforced concrete, structural steel, etc.).

Responsibilities:

  • Perform Inspections in accordance with code and project requirements
  • Interpret project plans and specifications and ensure project requirements are being met.
  • Activities will include performing field testing and inspections
  • Review plans and specifications, performing the inspections accordingly
  • Communicate results with contractors, engineers and others
  • Input results and observations into daily reports

Requirements:

  • Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification required
  • Construction materials testing (CMT) and inspection experience is preferred
  • AWS D1.1 and AWS D1.5 experience a plus
  • ICC certifications a plus: Structural Welding, Structural Masonry, Reinforced Concrete, Structural Steel and Bolting
