Job Summary:
The Civil Construction Superintendent for Public Works oversees and manages construction projects related to public infrastructure, such as roads, bridges, water and sewer systems, and other municipal projects. This role ensures that projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety regulations and local, state, and federal standards. The superintendent will coordinate with engineers, contractors, and government agencies while supervising on-site operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management & Supervision:
-Oversee daily construction site operations and ensure adherence to project plans and schedules.
-Supervise and coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and labor crews.
-Ensure compliance with contract specifications, quality control standards, and safety regulations.
-Monitor progress and address any delays or issues that arise.
-Conduct site inspections to ensure work meets engineering and design standards.
Safety & Compliance:
-Enforce all OSHA, EPA, and local safety regulations on-site.
-Conduct safety meetings and ensure all workers adhere to safety protocols.
Budgeting & Resource Management:
-Work with project managers and engineers to manage budgets and resource allocation.
-Review and approve purchase orders, invoices, and material requests.
