Overview of position:

FEDITC is seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Architect to work in Springfield, VA

A United States Citizenship and an active Top Secret DoD Security Clearance is required to be considered for this position.

This is an upcoming opportunity contingent on contract award with a projected start date of January 2026.

The Cloud Infrastructure Architect leads the design, implementation, and optimization of secure, scalable, and resilient cloud environments across public, private, and hybrid platforms. This role works closely with technical and business teams to translate mission requirements into effective cloud architecture solutions, overseeing the deployment of core infrastructure components such as networking, firewalls, load balancers, and API gateways. The architect also drives cloud migration strategies, ensures high availability and disaster recovery readiness, and implements strong security controls to protect data and maintain compliance. With expertise in cloud frameworks, automation, and emerging best practices, the Cloud Infrastructure Architect ensures the enterprise’s cloud ecosystem remains modern, efficient, and secure.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement cloud-based infrastructure solutions that are secure, scalable, and reliable.
• Collaborate with teams to understand business requirements and ensure cloud solutions align with these needs.
• Develop and document cloud architecture blueprints and ensure proper integration with on-premises environments when necessary.
• Lead the design and deployment of cloud infrastructure components (networking, load balancers, firewalls, API gateways, etc.) in a public/private/hybrid cloud environment.
• Plan and execute migrations of on-premises systems and applications to the cloud.
• Ensure that cloud infrastructure is designed for high availability, disaster recovery, and performance optimization.
• Design and implement security controls for cloud environments, including identity management, network security, encryption, and data protection.
• Work with security teams to ensure cloud solutions meet compliance requirements.
• Stay current on cloud security threats and best practices to safeguard infrastructure and data.

Qualifications

Experience/Skills:

• 10 years or more of experience
• CCIE Service Provider

Certifications:

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect

Clearance:

• Active Top Secret clearance is required.
• Must be a United States Citizen and pass a background check.
• Maintain applicable security clearance(s) at the level required by the client and/or applicable certification(s) as requested by FEDITC and/or required by FEDITC’S Client(s)/Customer(s)/Prime contractor(s).
