Overview

The Cashier serves as a key member of the bank’s finance and operations team, responsible for maintaining accuracy, integrity, and efficiency across daily accounting and financial reporting functions. This individual plays a central role in the bank’s general ledger management, liquidity oversight, and tax coordination processes, working closely with executive leadership to ensure sound financial performance.

This position is well-suited for a technically skilled banking professional with a strong accounting foundation who is ready to step into greater leadership responsibility. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in bank operations or accounting, familiarity with tax preparation and compliance, and the aptitude to grow into a Controller-level role in the near future.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversees daily accounting and operational functions, including reconciliation of general ledger, correspondent bank accounts, and Federal Reserve balances.
• Monitors and manages daily cash positions and liquidity across the institution.
• Prepares and reviews monthly and quarterly financial reports, account certifications, and balance sheet analyses.
• Coordinates with external accounting and tax partners on filings, projections, and audit preparation.
• Assists with preparation of the Call Report, Board reporting, and other required regulatory submissions.
• Maintains and enhances internal controls and accounting procedures to ensure compliance and accuracy.
• Supports budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning initiatives in collaboration with the CFO.
• Responds to auditor and examiner requests with precision and timeliness.
• Identifies and implements process improvements to streamline reporting and strengthen operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline required.
• 4–7 years of progressive experience in bank accounting, operations, or finance.
• CPA designation or active pursuit of certification strongly preferred.
• Solid understanding of GAAP, bank regulatory reporting, and tax processes.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with core banking and accounting systems preferred.
• Demonstrated analytical ability, attention to detail, and sound professional judgment.
• Proven integrity and discretion in handling sensitive financial information.
