We’re seeking an experienced Family Nurse Practitioner (Locum Tenens) to join the dedicated care team at the Blackfeet IHS Hospital in Browning, MT . Details:

• Full-time locum/contract assignment, up to 1 year with potential for extension 
• Outpatient setting serving adults and pediatrics 
• Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, no weekends or holidays 
• Work under any active U.S. state license 
• Prior IHS, tribal, or government healthcare experience preferred 
• Background in Family or Internal Medicine required
• Experience treating both adult and pediatric patients required

As a Family Nurse Practitioner, you will provide comprehensive medical services, including:

• Evaluation, diagnosis, and management of patients across the lifespan 
• Counseling and education on health promotion, disease prevention, and wellness 
• Coordination of specialty referrals and follow-up care 
• Accurate documentation and maintenance of medical records in the EHR system 
• Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing medications per IHS formulary, and developing individualized care plans 
• Active participation in quality improvement, infection control, and patient safety initiatives

Requirements:

• Must be certified through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners
• 2 years of experience as a Family, Internal Medicine or Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner
• Must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration from any State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
• Must be Board Eligible or Certified
• Active DEA license
• Must have current BLS
• ACLS, PALS preferred
• Certification of Education - copy of diploma or transcripts
• Must be a U.S. citizen living primarily in the United States
• Must be willing to pass a federal background check
• Must not require visa sponsorship (no visa holders or green card residents)
• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems
