About William White Emporium
The William White Emporium is not your average store or café—it’s a cultural hub, a neighborhood salon, and a retail destination all in one. Part concept shop, part café, and part design showroom, the Emporium brings together fashion, home, food, and storytelling under one roof.
Role Overview
We’re looking for charismatic, high-energy Front of House team members and Baristas to be the welcoming face of the Emporium. This is a hospitality-first role for someone who gets joy from connecting with others, knows how to read a room, and can keep pace in a dynamic, beautifully curated space.
You’ll be serving exceptional coffee—but more importantly, you’ll be setting the tone, sparking conversations, and making the space feel like a second home for our guests.
Key Responsibilities
Hospitality & Guest Experience
• Be the first point of contact for all guests—warm, energetic, and tuned-in
• Create a friendly, elevated café environment that encourages people to linger and return. You remember their name, they keep coming back!
• Anticipate guest needs and offer thoughtful recommendations across café and retail offerings
Barista & Café Operations
• Prepare and serve espresso drinks, teas, and light fare with consistency and care
• Maintain a clean, organized, and visually beautiful bar at all times
• Work closely with our F&B and brand partners to ensure quality and consistency
Retail Integration & Storytelling
• Learn the story behind our products to support informal retail sales as needed
• Engage with guests about upcoming events, new arrivals, and brand moments
• Support floor transitions between retail, café, and event mode
Qualifications
• 1–3 years experience in a café, hospitality, or service environment
• Warm, outgoing personality with a genuine love of people
• Strong communication and multitasking skills
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, aesthetically driven space
• Familiarity with espresso and coffee equipment (training provided)
• Interest in design, fashion, or cultural spaces is a plus
Bonus Attributes
• Experience working in mixed-use retail/hospitality environments
• Existing knowledge of New York’s downtown creative and cultural scenes
• Barista certification or experience with specialty coffee (but no coffee snobs, please!)
You don’t need to be a coffee nerd—you just need to care.
We’re building a space that’s vibrant, welcoming, and rooted in culture and community. If you bring the energy, we’ll provide the environment to thrive.
