Reports To: VP Supply Chain

Pay Type: Salaried

FLSA Status: Exempt

Location: Kenilworth, NJ

Salary Range: $150,000 – $160,000

Job Summary:

The Head of Logistics will be responsible for managing and overseeing all logistics and warehouse operations for our U.S. sites. This includes providing strategic leadership for intra-company shipments, imports, and 3rd party warehouse management. You will be instrumental in developing a robust logistics strategy that meets our current needs and anticipates future growth, ensuring seamless flow of raw materials and finished goods from production to delivery.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Directly lead and manage logistics and warehouse operations, including transportation for raw materials and finished goods.
  • Establish and consistently deliver on key logistics metrics across four production plants and associated warehouses.
  • Oversee internal warehouse operations, ensuring optimal staffing levels with trained employees to meet all logistical requirements.
  • Coordinate the efficient transportation and storage of all imports.
  • Identify and secure cost-effective 3rd party warehousing solutions that support daily operations and align with the company's strategic direction.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive distribution and network strategy that integrates four separate operating companies and import processes.
  • Manage internal fleet assets and drivers, ensuring efficiency and compliance.
  • Support the development of interim production planning and inventory management tools in preparation for a full ERP system rollout.
  • Serve as a key member of the ERP selection and implementation team, contributing expertise and insights.
  • Provide critical support for production planning and warehousing capacity analysis.
  • Develop, track, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and enhance logistics performance.
  • Develop and manage budgets, ensuring strong financial results for logistics operations.
  • Identify and implement supply chain improvement projects, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and employee engagement.
  • Collaborate proactively with sales and operations teams to identify and resolve customer service issues related to logistics.

Qualifications / Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 10+ years of progressive supply chain and operations experience in leadership roles.
  • Strong preference for candidates with long-term tenure in previous roles.
  • Industry Background: 10 Years of Experience in Pharmaceutical or Food & Beverage Manufacturing.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Highly skilled in building relationships, influencing others, leading change, and developing talent.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies; proven experience identifying improvement opportunities and leading project teams to successful completion.
  • Proven record of delivering tangible results in logistics and supply chain.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across various functions and gain necessary buy-in from stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing priorities.
  • Capable of routine travel between locations in NJ and Long Island.
  • Experience utilizing ERP systems is required, and previous ERP implementation experience is preferred.
  • Language Requirement: Bilingual (English/Spanish required).

Physical Demands:

The Head of Logistics role may involve up to 8 hours of standing, bending, twisting, turning, and using arms and hands for reaching, handling, and manipulating objects. The ability to lift items weighing up to 25 pounds, climb ladders, scaffolds, and other climbing devices, and possess natural or corrected vision to safely perform designated tasks is required. The role also involves significant time sitting and using office equipment and computers, with occasional light lifting of supplies and materials.
