Job Description

Title: Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) – Observability & Automation

Location: On-site in Plano, TX

Type: Full-time

Pay: $170,000 – $190,000

Job Summary:

Seeking a highly skilled Senior Site Reliability Engineer to lead observability and automation initiatives across cloud and on-prem environments. This role will focus on implementing Dynatrace and Splunk, building Ansible-based automation, and mentoring junior engineers. The ideal candidate has a strong SRE background and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science, Math, or related field (advanced degree preferred)
  • 10+ years in application engineering
  • 5+ years of SRE experience (architect or engineer level)
  • Strong hands-on experience with Dynatrace (required) and Splunk (preferred)
  • Proficiency in Ansible and Python for automation
  • Experience with Agile/SDLC methodologies
  • Knowledge of performance, security, availability, and monitoring best practices
  • 2+ years of experience with relational databases (MSSQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB)
  • Scripting experience in Unix Shell, Python, or PowerShell
  • Familiarity with containerization and cloud-based infrastructure
  • Background in systems architecture and DevOps
  • Experience in regulated industries (financial services preferred)

Responsibilities:

  • Design and configure observability tools (Dynatrace, Splunk) across environments
  • Automate monitoring processes using Ansible and scripting
  • Collaborate with architects to define monitoring strategies and roadmaps
  • Analyze incidents and usage trends to improve reliability
  • Promote adoption of observability tools and best practices
  • Establish and track SLIs/SLOs with service owners
  • Develop tooling to meet audit and security requirements
  • Mentor junior engineers and support team development
  • Communicate technical solutions to stakeholders
