4. Reports to: Import/Export Manager
5. Rate: $21/hr - $22/hr

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Logistics Assistant to join our team. The Logistics Assistant will be responsible for supporting the logistics team in coordinating and managing the movement of goods and materials. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work in a fast-paced environment, and have a strong understanding of logistics processes.

Essential functions and responsibilities include but not limited to:

1. Dispatch Port Drivers
2. Work directly with drivers if there are any issues picking up containers at the port
3. Schedule Appointments for container pick up and empty container drop off
4. Track containers once picked up until unloaded and empty container returned back to the port
5. Log TIR (Trailer Interchange Receipt) in NetSuite
6. Pay fees to terminals and/or steamship lines (i.e. freight forwarder charges, chassis fees, etc)
7. Follow up with freight forwarders on outstanding payments/reimbursed fees (i.e. chassis fees)
8. Assist with special projects as needed

Education and Experience:

1. High School diploma or Associate in Supply Chain or related field, preferred but not required
2. 1-2 years of experience in supply chain, experience can substitute education or a combination of education and experience is accepted.
3. Experience with operational and logistics handling in a warehouse facility
4. Experience with ERP systems – NetSuite is a plus

Skills:

1. Multi-tasker, with detail oriented skills
2. Ability to prioritize and re-prioritize tasks as needed with strong time-management skills
3. Good warehouse safety knowledge
4. Flexibility
5. Strong organizational and time-management skills
6. Strong verbal and written communication, common sense desire to learn, and the ability to adapt, improvise and overcome.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None
