General Purpose:
To plan, purchase, schedule, and control all materials required to support the business. Must drive analytics to ensure all products are available at the optimal unit cost.
Key Responsibilities:
Material Planning – Using approved sales forecasts, plan and schedule material requirements, and prepare purchase requisitions
Purchasing – turn purchase requisitions into purchase orders, select vendor, negotiate terms and conditions (price and delivery), monitor delivery, resolve vendor conflicts
Production Planning – Using approved sales forecasts, plan and schedule production requirements, and prepare required work orders for Manufacturing.
Inventory Control – Monitor and optimize inventory levels, raw, work-in-process, and finished goods.
Accountability/Reporting Structure:
The Materials Specialist reports to the Senior Vice President of Corporate Operations.
This position requires a hands-on approach and requires the person to be on-site either 5 days a week for 8 hours or 4 days a week at 10 hours each.
Education, Experience, and Certificates/Licenses:
Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Business, SCM, or Manufacturing is a plus. Experience in warehouse or facilities management is required.
Experience with NetSuite is required.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Position: Full-time with health insurance, vacation, and 401 (k) benefits. Yearly range from $70,000 to $85,000 depending on experience.
