Pickleball Insurance Program (PIP) and Western Bowling Proprietors Insurance (WBPI) is owned by Rednil Insurance Programs, a second generation, family-owned business that dedicates itself exclusively to insuring bowling centers, family entertainment centers, and now, Pickleball Clubs! Through building relationships directly with customers, our purpose is to coach small business owners into success and fight their battles when trouble comes their way. We aim to be their expert defense so they can focus on what they do best: facilitating the creation of life-long memories for the people in their communities. With fewer than 30 team members, we're a family. We HATE micromanagement and have an all-hands-on-deck mentality to help when the cup starts to overflow.

From the folks that have insured bowling alleys for 37 years (for real), we're looking for a renewal underwriter who wants to help us dominate the Bowling & Pickleball insurance markets!

We'd love someone who has at least entry level underwriting experience (insurance or banking), a knack for organization, self-management, and an appreciation for exploring the gray areas.

We are offering a salary rate between $45,000.00-$65,000.00 per year dependent on candidate quality. In addition to the salary, we provide team members:

• Platinum PPO Health insurance for employee (80% employer/20% employee share) and dependents (25% employer/75% employee)

Key traits we're looking for:

• Ability to exercise excellent judgement in evaluating and determining proper pricing.
• Calculate, prepare and develop premium quotations using underwriting guidelines within the letter of authority for renewal business and endorsements.
• Ability to establish a personal rapport with the team while maintaining underwriting standards.
• Ability to apply creative techniques to maintain existing business in unique situations (aka critical thinking that goes outside of a typical black and white thought process).
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and balance demands of supporting Account Managers and Sales Teams, while maintaining current underwriting workload.
• Ability to comprehend the consequences of problematic situations and address or refer to appropriate decision-making authorities in a timely manner.
• Ability to quickly, concisely, and completely convey information.

Minimum Requirements:

• 2 years in an underwriting position
• Degree in anything other than underwater basket weaving or gender studies (or no degree!)
• Clean criminal background check
• Cannot reside in California, Oregon, or Colorado--otherwise, we prefer candidates in mountain time zones for operational efficiency

Bonus Skills:

• Owning a pet that you like and care for; extra bonus for bully breed dogs or livestock.
• Puns are life. Highly encourage daily use of movie quotes, Seinfeld/Friends references, or pontification of the latest conspiracy theory discussion. (We draw the line at Lord of the Rings…who has that much time for a movie?)
• Must be able to remember to come back to work after lunch.
• We like to have a lot of fun, but we get a lot of work done fast and accurately – you must be able to switch from one to the other quickly.

• Trust and Integrity are the backbone of the Rednil Underwriting Team. You’ll need a backbone, too.
• Loves challenging stupid rules as a hobby.
