Job Description

Asbury Methodist Village is among the country’s largest continuing care retirement communities and proudly calls Montgomery County, Maryland, home. With 134 beautiful acres, our campus is a certified arboretum and includes a 17-acre wildlife preserve.

As part of the not-for-profit Asbury organization, Asbury Methodist Village offers senior independent living options such as Courtyard Homes, Villas, and spacious senior apartments, as well as assisted living, memory support, and quality skilled nursing care and rehabilitation therapy. These senior housing choices, combined with an outstanding tradition of quality and service, help Asbury senior living redefine the expectations of retirement living and aging services to ensure that you can anticipate more here.

Are you a dynamic sales professional looking for a meaningful career in an exceptional environment? We're seeking a results-driven and compassionate Sales Counselor to join our team at one of the region’s most celebrated Continuing Care Retirement Communities.

Here, you’ll do more than sell a product — you’ll guide individuals through a life-enhancing decision. You’ll introduce prospective residents to a vibrant, wellness-focused campus, innovative programs, and a deeply engaged community. Backed by a supportive team and a full suite of tools and resources, you’ll help seniors and their families discover a place where they can thrive.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and nurture lasting relationships with prospective residents and their families.
  • Conduct personalized discovery sessions to understand each prospect’s needs, goals, and concerns — and tailor your approach accordingly.
  • Present the unique benefits of our community through one-on-one meetings, tours, events, and group presentations both on and off campus.
  • Use a consultative sales approach to guide prospects through what is often a multi-month (or multi-year) decision-making journey.
  • Leverage marketing and CRM software ( Welcome Home ) to manage and track leads, identify trends, and develop follow-up strategies.
  • Evaluate financial qualifications using tools like Examiner , while guiding families through financial documentation and contracts.
  • Communicate regularly with key decision influencers, such as adult children, advisors, and caregivers.
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure a seamless and welcoming experience from inquiry to move-in.
  • Support marketing efforts by contributing to the development of sales materials and promotional strategies.
  • Set and meet monthly and quarterly sales goals in alignment with department objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Proven success in relationship-based sales (experience in senior living, real estate, hospitality, or healthcare is a plus).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a natural ability to build trust and rapport.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office computer package and the ability to learn Asbury’s database system.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications, gerontology, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with financial concepts such as income, assets, insurance, and retirement planning.
  • Must possess knowledge and understanding of physical and psychological needs of geriatric population.
  • Must be able to work weekends as needed

Depending upon the status of the position, Asbury offers generous benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage; 401K with match; PTO and paid holidays.

We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, pregnancy, age, national origin, disability status, genetic information, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law .
