SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:

The Senior Estimator will lead the preparation of detailed and accurate cost estimates for data center construction projects. This role involves analyzing project plans, specifications, and other documentation to determine the total cost of materials, labor, equipment, and time required. The Senior Estimator will collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure estimates are comprehensive and align with project goals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Cost Estimation: Develop detailed cost estimates by analyzing project specifications, drawings, and other relevant documents, considering factors such as materials, labor, equipment, and time requirements.
• Bid Preparation: Prepare and review bid packages, including scope of work, subcontractor invitations, and bid forms, ensuring compliance with project requirements and company standards.
• Subcontractor Coordination: Solicit and evaluate subcontractor bids, negotiate contracts, and manage vendor relationships to ensure competitive pricing and quality standards.
• Risk Analysis: Conduct risk assessments to identify potential cost uncertainties and develop strategies to mitigate risks, ensuring accurate and comprehensive cost models.
• Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders during the preconstruction phase to ensure alignment of project objectives and cost estimates.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay current with industry trends, technology, and best practices to continuously improve estimating processes and enhance accuracy and efficiency.
• Compliance: Ensure all estimating activities comply with company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with internal teams, clients, and subcontractors.
• Analytical Skills: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities to assess complex project requirements and develop accurate cost estimates.
• Negotiation Skills: Skilled in negotiating contracts and managing vendor relationships to achieve favorable terms and conditions.
• Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., ProContractor, Bluebeam, PlanSwift) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in preparing estimates, schedules, and other project documents.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in construction estimating, with at least 3 years in a leadership role overseeing estimating activities for data center or mission-critical facilities.
• Certifications: Professional certifications such as Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) are a plus.
• Industry Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of construction methods, materials, and cost estimation techniques specific to data center construction projects.
