Job Title: Specialist 3 - Tech Writer/Translator
Duration: 6 months contract
Location : Santa Clara, CA USA 95054
Primary responsibilities:
Drafting and updating scientific, technical, commercial, legal and educational communications. Ensures that the meaning of the source text is retained.
Researches legal, technical and scientific phraseology to find the correct translation for complex verbiage.
Proofreads and edits final translated versions. Makes recommendations regarding quality process improvement.
Description:
General Summary: Responsible for the translation of corporate information including marketing materials, sales aids, and so forth into other languages to address the business' audience.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Translates scientific, technical, commercial, legal and educational communications from one language to another. Ensures that the meaning of the source text is retained. Reviews work of less experienced staff members. Researches legal, technical and scientific phraseology to find the correct translation for complex verbiage. Leads meetings with clients to determine project requirements and timelines, review products, and so forth. Negotiates parameters of project as needed. Proofreads and edits final translated versions. Mentors less experienced staff on appropriate phrasing and application. Develops translation tools and investigates software products that would facilitate the translation process. Makes recommendations regarding quality process improvement.
Work Experience: Generally Requires 4-6 Years Work Experience
Education Required: University/Bachelors Degree or Equivalent
