Role Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President, Legal to join our growing Legal and Policy team. This is a critical leadership role with broad responsibility for commercial, corporate, intellectual property, compliance, employment and other matters. The ideal candidate will bring strategic legal leadership experience supporting commercial functions and business operations, and will act as a trusted legal advisor to executive leadership. You will be instrumental in shaping T1’s legal strategy and enabling high-impact business initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Provide strategic, business-oriented legal advice to cross-functional teams including Business Development, Sales, Procurement, Logistics, Operations, Project Development, Technology and HR.

Provide Legal support for:

• Strategic corporate and commercial transactions
• Solar equipment and solutions sales transactions
• Procurement of solar components, equipment and solutions
• Engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) projects
• Technology, product development, manufacturing and marketing initiatives
• Intellectual property matters
• Employment and HR matters
• Trade, compliance, and dispute resolution
• Real Estate transactions, leasing, and site development support
• Other legal, regulatory, compliance and policy matters

Collaborate with outside counsel as needed and oversee external legal engagements

Develop and maintain legal processes, templates, and policies to support business scalability and risk management

Educate business partners on key legal, commercial, regulatory and compliance risks and considerations

Ability to travel as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant legal experience
• Combination of top-tier law firm and broad in-house counsel experience
• Broad generalist with deep expertise in commercial and strategic transactions
• Experience supporting manufacturing, energy or technology companies
• JD from a leading law school
• Member in good standing of at least one U.S. state bar
• Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
• Experience providing legal counsel on strategy and legal risk directly to C-level leadership in high-growth or complex environments
