Warehouse Manager
Position Summary:
The Warehouse Manager leads, plans, organizes, and monitors shipping, receiving, fulfillment, and staging teams, ensuring efficient and accurate flow of inventory and product. This position is responsible for accurate inventory management and location planning of all materials and components. The Warehouse Manager supervises the safe receipt, storage, and retrieval of all product order materials and finished goods, including shipping and fulfillment of products for customers from the facility.
Essential Functions:
- Adhere to company Policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Manage the daily operations of the warehouse team and provide guidance and support to warehouse staff.
- Act as the internal liaison between operations, quality, and sales for all shipping, receiving and storage needs.
- Develop a training program for the pick, pack, and shipping of customer orders using the company’s ERP system.
- Integrate material management into a barcode system using the company’s ERP system.
- Develop and implement warehouse operational procedures for improved efficiency and capacity planning.
- Responsible for ordering all warehouse supply needs as well as working with appropriate Shipping carriers for best pricing.
- Develop and implement a plan to organize, clean and maintain all warehouse locations.
- Work closely with operations and quality on material and product storage practices, policies, and standards.
- Develop and implement a 6S culture.
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain and logistics management or engineering, or High School Diploma or GED and an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training may be considered.
- Minimum of 3 years of fulfillment, warehouse/distribution, shipping/receiving, or inventory control supervising experience required.
- Strong knowledge and proven implementation of Lean, Kaizen and/or Six Sigma preferred.
- Strong knowledge of organization and planning required.
- Forklift certification required.
- Understanding and compliance with OSHA policies.
- Ability to work with allergens as defined by the FDA (milk, eggs, fish, Crustacean shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, and soybeans).
Manager Responsibility:
- This position will be required to hire, train and supervise company personnel.
Physical Demands and Other Duties:
- The work requires physical demands with frequent lifting and/or moving of materials in the 10-50 pound range. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration, and high noise levels. Knowledge and implementation of safety practices and personal protective equipment is critical.
