Job Description

Analytica is seeking an experience Data Management and Governance  Technical Lead with experience using Alation and Databricks Unity Catalog.  In this role you will serve in a hands-on technical role to implement and lead data management activities that include curating data assets, ensuring data catalog alignment to agency-wide strategy, mature data standards and data management.  You will own the end-to-end management of data governance platform, enabling automated metadata capture, data classification, and enterprise-wide discoverability of data assets. This role will be a hybrid role, with expected 2-4 times a month on client or HQ site.

Your Role:

• Lead the design and implementation of an enterprise metadata model in Alation aligned with business goals.
• Develop and execute workflows integrating metadata with Unity Catalog and Alation
• Govern data access using and implement best practices for secure data sharing.
• Establish and optimize distributed workspaces in Databricks using Unity Catalog.
• Drive cross-functional alignment and stakeholder engagement for unified data architecture.
• Install, configure, test, maintain, and debug data management software, systems, and associated capabilities specifically dealing with data governance and related persona user interfaces.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 8 (eight) years’ professional experience
• Bachelors in engineering, IT or relevant technical field
• Alation Certified Professional Consultant or Databricks Certified Data Engineer
• Hands-on experience with Alation and Databricks Unity Catalog.
• Proven success in implementing distributed data environments.
• Expertise in metadata modeling and enterprise data architecture.
• Strong understanding of data governance and compliance frameworks.
• Strong data governance and metadata management acumen, utilizing platforms like Alation and Collibra
• Experience implementing large-scale ETL and Lakehouse solutions in AWS, incorporating advanced capabilities for optimized performance and scalability.
