Job Description

Position Summary:

Oversee production planning and management activities within the organization in all US plants. Develop production plan, budget, and timelines according to production specifications. Determine production requirements based on plant capacity and production specifications. Plan workflow and schedules for production department.

Essential Functions/Key Deliverables:

  • Oversee the master production schedule and ensure it’s aligned with the budget and sales plan.
  • Determine material requirements and provide them to procurement so materials can be delivered on time to meet the production plan.
  • Analyze production requirements, plant capacity, and inventory and make recommendations to minimize manufacturing constraints.
  • Provide input regarding the production impact of order changes, material shortages, backlogs, and other potential schedule interruptions.
  • Collaborate with sales to ensure there is an alignment to customer demand.
  • Effectively manage stock in preparation of seasonal demand to maximize product sales according to Authorization to Manufacture (ATM’s).
  • Define and execute production planning strategies to maintain healthy inventory levels according to customers’ Authorization to Manufacture (ATM’s).
  • Develop and implement production controls to monitor order progress and identify potential bottlenecks or delays.
  • Analyze, evaluate, and interpret various data sources to enable well-defined and effective planning models.
  • Subject matter expert on all aspects of production planning and can provide insights into areas of improvement in conjunction with system solutions and resources to improve.
  • Ensure department operates at peak efficiency, with customer satisfaction being the primary goal, by supervising, organizing, directing, and training employees and establishing, monitoring, and managing operation goals. Participate in recruitment and selection process.
  • Oversee the accurate recording of department employees’ attendance system and provide all necessary information to enable accurate payroll preparation.
  • Coordinate the use of SAP and computerized systems.
  • Monitor and execute production planning and/or stoppages of production lines and communicate issues or problems with management.
  • Receive orders and ensure their completion using appropriate internal procedures.
  • Maintain good relationships with cross-functional departments.
  • Assist with the implementation and maintenance of systems, including performing internal audits as required.
  • Oversee daily operations, while controlling and managing inventory.
  • Maintain a high level of inventory accuracy.
  • Capacity planning for can production lines
  • Ensure a high level of production schedule attainment.
  • Managing a team/coaching/mentoring/performance.
  • Perform any other duty reasonable corresponding with the role.

Knowledge/Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain/business Logistics or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous managerial experience required.
  • Previous SAP experience a plus
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to draw conclusions from data.
  • MS Office including Excel experience.
  • Strong critical-thinking skills with a solution-oriented mindset.
  • Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy and organization.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • The ability to function both independently and as part of a team must be flexible and excited to grow with the organization.
