Job Description

The FBI National Academy Associates, Inc. (FBINAA), a non-profit Association, has an immediate opening for a Retail Operations Manager. You will have the responsibility for all logistics involving operating the FBINAA’s brick-and-mortar and online stores. You will have daily interaction with the National Academy team, our members, and our vendors. Domestic travel is required to support the FBINAA retail operations during the National Annual Training Conference (Summer) and occasional travel in support of vendor relations and conference preparations.

Job duties include:

  • Responsible for the development and implementation of strategic objectives in support of the Association's mission priorities and objectives.
  • Development of strategic initiatives and achievement of goals and objectives for retail operations.
  • Develop a Sales Plan to meet annual sales goals and provide exceptional customer service through product availability and visual merchandising.
  • Analyze and identify trends and opportunities to define changes in processes and procedures that drive operations.
  • Lead, coordinate, and manage daily operations of the Quantico store and online stores.
  • Supervise the conference store staff and volunteers.
  • Manage the marketing and advertising of Retail Operations (Partnering with the Director of Marketing & Communications and the Brand & Marketing Manager to post advertisements to social media, Newsletters, magazines, and our website).
  • Analyze, communicate, and recap profit and loss, monthly reports as they relate to the Quantico store/Online stores, expense control, and profitability. Make recommendations and suggest/implement changes based on analysis.
  • Manage Procurement of merchandise for the Quantico Store and Conference store by collaborating with suppliers to include Product Design, Development, Brand Management, and Marketing to ensure the development of a product that meets the standards of the FBINAA and continues to drive the overall brand strategies.
  • Open and close the Quantico store to meet session needs.
  • Financial reporting to the National Team on a regular basis.
  • Session support – Brief FBINAA student liaisons regarding session-specific merchandise and coordination of special orders between students and suppliers.
  • Ensure a pleasant shopping experience exists for our members through effective execution of selling and service by continually staying connected to member needs, and by being proactive to session needs by anticipating and adapting to change.
  • Establishes routines (SOPs) to ensure operational priorities and process/procedure changes are communicated and executed.
  • Inventory management – Manage all aspects of the inventory process including receiving, stocking, markdowns, physical inventory processes, and maintaining sufficient inventory to achieve expected results.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • A minimum of five years of experience in retail management including supervising employees.
  • Problem solver who takes initiative and has a “can-do” attitude.
  • Excellent computer skills, along with the ability to adapt to changing technologies.
  • Knowledge of FormStack, Office 365 and Lightspeed are a plus.
  • Ability to travel and work irregular hours.
  • Ability to coordinate many projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines, and excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism & competence.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Work location is Quantico, VA.
  • This is NOT a remote position.
